Resident Selection & Housing Eligibility
BCLT strives to make living in our apartments a positive experience
for renters. Residents must apply in advance for BCLT apartments
and applications are given priority based on the order of receipt
in our office of the complete application. To ensure that BCLT
housing maintains the highest possible standards, resident selection
and household eligibility criteria must be met by all residents.
Many factors are considered when reviewing applications.
BCLT requires and considers certain household information for persons applying for our rental housing.
- Household Income Guidelines – BCLT rental
housing is available to low and moderate-income households, with
market-rate apartments now available for a wider range of incomes.
- Affordability based on household income –
Incomes must be sufficient to meet rent obligations.
- Household Size - The number of persons in the
household must meet local housing standards.
- Security Deposits - Security deposits are required.
- Credit Reports - Applicants must have an overall
satisfactory credit report.
- Landlord references - Verifiable, positive
references from prior landlords.
- Criminal history - No convictions for crimes
of violence or the sale of illegal substances.
- Pets - Pets are not allowed in BCLT properties,
unless medically necessary.
