The Community Land Trust Model

Through the Community Land Trust model, BCLT provides stewardship by preserving scarce affordable housing and community resources and creates innovative, safe and secure housing opportunities for lower-income community members. BCLT ensures that the homes we offer for sale through our homeownership programs remain permanently affordable through agreements and legal instruments that assure affordability for future as well as current homeowners. One important tool is a ground lease and covenant to ensure that properties remain affordable upon resale.
