How can I buy a home with BCLT?
BCLT makes homeownership a reality for buyers of all incomes through
our Homeownership Centers to serve Chittenden, Franklin, and Grand
Isle counties, we have two centers, located in St. Albans and in
Burlington. The Centers offer:
- Home buyer education and home maintenance education
- Budget and credit counseling
- Financing Assistance
As a community land trust, BCLT has special loan and education
programs available only for homeowners in Chittenden, Franklin,
and Grand Isle counties. In addition, through our very successful
perpetually affordable home purchase program, BCLT offers select properties
for sale in those three counties.
Steps for buying a home through BCLT:

Center of Vermont. This means that you have:
- Attended an Orientation Meeting.
- Completed the 8-hour Homeownership Workshop.
- Met with a Housing Specialist for a one-on-one Meeting.
- You must become a member of BCLT. This means that you join BCLT
(membership dues of at least $1).
- You must purchase a home in Chittenden, Franklin, or Grand Isle
County.
- If you live in Franklin County or Grand Isle County, you
can contact the St. Albans Homeownership Center by calling
802-527-2361 or by sending an email to: llittle@getahome.org.
